MONTAGNOLA WITH WARM FIG SPREAD

             


I discovered this easy yet wonderful combination at a Whole Foods Market sampling.                                                                                                                                                                                                Montagnola is a German blue cheese, that has a buttery and pleasant piquant flavor. It is hard to find however. Whole Foods Market and Surdyks cheese shop are the only place locally I have found it. ”Cambozola”  is another blue/brie hybrid is more readily available and a good substitute. Simply warm some of the fig preserves in the microwave and pour over the cheese. I like it best with thin slices of baguette
